Education and courses · Sample scenario
AI assistant based on course materials
Student questions are answered only from teacher-approved materials, with the source cited; if the materials do not cover it, the question goes to the teacher.
Problem
Students ask repeated questions on the same topics, and the teacher has no time to answer each one separately.
How it works today
Questions come into the group chat or the teacher’s private messages. Answers are delayed by hours or days, and the same explanation is written again and again.
What this scenario changes
The student’s course access is checked, the question is searched in approved course materials, and AI writes an explanation and an extra example based on the passage found, with the source cited. If the materials have no answer, the assistant does not make one up and the question goes to the teacher.
The process step by step
- Student question: A question is asked inside the LMS
- Access checked: Is the student enrolled in this course
- Materials searched: Approved sources only
- Does the source have an answer?: A relevant passage was found
- Cited explanation: Based on the passage found
- Extra example: Example using material content
- Answer shown: The student sees the explanation and source
Exception path
- Escalated to the teacher: The question is passed on with context
- Student notified: The student is told the question went to the teacher
The role of AI
Writes a simple explanation and an extra example based on the material passages found, and cites the source used.
Human approval and exceptions
If no sufficiently relevant passage is found in the approved materials, the assistant does not make up an answer; the question goes to the teacher and the student is told so clearly.
Frequently asked questions
Does the assistant take information from the internet?
No. Answers are based only on teacher-approved course materials, and every answer cites its source.
Does the assistant solve graded assignments?
The rule for graded assignments is agreed with the teacher; usually the assistant explains the topic rather than giving a ready answer.
What happens to questions escalated to the teacher?
The teacher answers and can add the answer to the materials so the assistant can use it next time.
